It's been crazy!!!!!!!!!

So it has been an extremely busy week but a very fun one. Tim came home a week ago today...well almost...the entire family took two cars and met him at the airport. He got in at 9:20 pm so we didn't do much but chill when we got home. Wednesday we went out and got our rings and the marriage license and did some other things of importance. It was a great day to just chill. Thursday we just kind of hung out. There wasn't much that needed done. Tim spent most of the afternoon chilling with his brothers because they have missed him like crazy. Friday was a crazy crazy day. Got up and immediately headed out to start the wedding day errands. We spent the entire day doing errands and setting up for the wedding. At about 3:30 Amanda showed up and started doing my hair. She forgot the dress so I had to wait for Eric to get here to actually get dressed. But it was all good...we did photos and had the ceremony and then the reception. At about 9 pm we got in the car and headed to the hotel which was his parents present to us. What a fun night. Saturday I woke up completely sick and we got home at about 9 am. I laid down while Tim sprayed off the car and everybody else did some random things. We waited for everybody to get home and unwrapped all the presents. The rest of the day consisted of just hanging out and finding room for everything in my room. Sunday was obviously church and it was also Miriam's birthday. We spent the day with family and just kinda hung out. It was an awesome day. Yesterday and today were kind of boring as we didn't have a car and we had to wait to go and pick up the marriage certificate. So tomorrow we will be going to pick up the certificate and then go and get my name officially changed and army paperwork done. We may stop by and see Miss Ava Jayne and Debbie and Simon but who knows. Lots to do and so little time to do it in. Off to bed well soon!!!

I haven't forgotten...I promise...

So it has been a week or so since I updated but things have been way crazy and I haven't really had a chance. Today is no different I just wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about you all...I have however been trying to put together a wedding in a matter of THREE weeks. I took my Bridal pictures today, they don't even look like me. Maybe that is because I was so freaking comfortable with just my future sister in laws there. I knew everybody so it wasn't so scary or creepy. Sunday I look into cakes and Monday I will be registering at Target and looking into flowers. Thursday I will start baking the cookies...if you want to help just say so and I will find something for you to help with...lol. Next week I will also have to set up a eye exam so that I can get contacts and not have to deal with glasses or not being able to see at the wedding. But before I do that I have to get my rent deposit back. Also next week I will look into buying the decorations and table clothes. Tim comes home on Tuesday the 8th which is a little over a week and a half done. I will post Bridal pictures here soon as well as on Facebook and Myspace. So that is all I have time to rant about for now. La'ers all.

Crazy few weeks...

So the last thing I wrote about was the fact that all of my plans had fallen through and I was going to Salt Lake City with the Young Adult Ward.  Well I did get to go to the activity and it was awesome for the most part up until the part where the entire ward left me and Tammy at the Joseph Smith Building.  Luckily, I had my phone and money because Tammy freaked out and went on a calling spree...I freaked out a little bit but never really showed it much.  An elder couple of Service Missionaries gave us a ride to the frontrunner where we waited for an hour for the next train.  As we got to the station though the train that we know had the rest of our group on it was just pulling away.  Tammy has vowed never to go to the Young Adult ward again and well I only go to the activities like always.  That is the excitement of what happened there.

Last week the Barnett family took their FAMILY vacation and took me along with them.  It was awesome to say the least.  Wednesday we went to Cherry Hill Waterpark which consist of a whole two slides and a lazy river.  It was one of the funnest days I have had in a long time and the only waterpark I have ever been too.  I got a slight burn on my shoulders and shoulder blades and that's about it.  Now I really have the perfect tan...it did peel a little but it is just about done peeling now.  Thursday we drove up to Bear Lake...we got there, had lunch, set up the tents and then headed off to visit the cave.  I love caves they are so unique.  After that we went back and swam and had dinner...made s'mores and went to bed.  In the morning we packed up and came home...but that was after stopping at a different beach to swim for a few hours.  Saturday we spent a good amount of time at the Hogle Zoo...we looked everywhere for the Tigers but apparently they were hiding every time we went past.

This week has gone by way to fast for it's own good but I guess that is a good thing since practically nothing at all has happened.  I applied for a few jobs.  I fell and hurt myself pretty good but it only hurt for a few hours and now it is just stiffness sinking in.  I spent whatever time I wasn't looking into jobs reading and hanging out at the library with Tammy.

The boys are gone for the weekend for High Adventure and next week everybody starts school and work.  Hopefully I find something soon so that I am not home alone all the time.  That would suck.  But seeing as I don't know how long I will be here I am only looking into retail positions.  That way I don't feel bad about quiting so soon after being hired.  That is my life in a nutshell as of today.

Plans Change and You Change With Them...

So a couple posts ago I mentioned all the fun plans I had lined up for this week...and last post I mentioned how I haven't gotten to do any of them.  Well it is the end of the week and I haven't done anything.  I didn't get to go to the Zoo or Thanksgiving Point with Cyann and her family Monday or Tuesday due to lack of money.  Debbie forgot she had talked to me about watching the kids yesterday...no biggie, she's a busy woman...so I didn't get to do that either.  I won't be able to go to Sunday dinner with my family for a couple reasons...there is this huge church activity tonight in SLC and we won't get back till late and I really don't have the money anyways.  So since buses don't run on Sunday's I can't make it to the dinner.  Oh well I can deal with that.  The dinner wound up at  my old apartment where Christy still lives.

But next week will be exciting and the plans won't change because the Barnett's have decided to take me on their family vacation.  We are going to Cherry Hill on Wednesday, camping at Bear Lake on Thursday and Friday and then to Hogle Zoo on Saturday.  So I am excited for that.

Today I will be taking a FREE ride to SLC on the Frontrunner because the church is paying.  We are going to all the places concerning church history.  I am also hoping to meet up with Jeremy for a little bit at least while I'm there since I can't make dinner tomorrow.  We will just have to wait and see.

So like I said "Plans Change and You Change With Them".  It is the only way to survive in this crazy world.  It is also why I take things one day at a time and why I rarely ever make plans in advance...they always change.  Till next time enjoy.

Uneventful week so far...

So far this week has not turned out quite how I thought it would.  I haven't done any of the fun things I had planned due to lack of money.  I was quite bummed that I couldn't make it to the Hogle Zoo or Thanksgiving Point to meet up with Cyann and her family.  I have been calling some of the places nearby to see if they are hiring...not really worth going to apply if they aren't hiring anytime soon...and none of the places I am really interested in working are hiring.  Tomorrow I plan on going for a walk however and I will apply to all the places I couldn't remember the names of in the local plaza.  Other than that I am just kind of chilling and watching The Tribe.  I do look forward to babysitting Ava Jayne and Simon on Friday and if I can get the money a weekend trip down to Orem where I will get to see my cousin Jeremy on Sunday.  We will have to wait and see...it would be good because apparently I have two packages down there and I seem to have left some stuff behind like a dress and I can't find my tweezers which I really really really need.  It kind of sucks.

The Journey Girl...

It's been a crazy few days and this week will be another crazy week.  So last week I got the chance to go up to Idaho Falls and spend some time with Tim's relatives up there.  They own a farm and have all these big draft horses.  It was so much fun.  Although, being up there really killed my allergies because of all the straw/hay and the new kittens that I really had to force myself not to touch.  It was a blast though and I kinda want to go back.  I love the area.  We drove up Wednesday night and Miriam, Nick and I stayed until Thursday...while Miriam's car was being fixed AGAIN!!!

Friday, we went and saw Amanda, Lucas, Matthew and Eric, after Amanda got back from the hospital.  When we got back from their house Andrea, Chelsey and I sat down and watched Twilight.  Andrea made Lasagna for dinner and Chelsey made cookies.  It was a very fun night.  Andrea and I talked about the movie the whole time it was on.  It was just fun and relaxing.

Saturday, I spent the day watching The Tribe and I finished Season 1 and got almost halfway through season 2.  I must have picked up watching the third or fourth season because I don't remember anything that has happened so far.  There are a few episodes I have seen but there are huge gaps in the ones I haven't seen.

Today, Sunday, I went to church with Tammy, Andrea and Miriam.  It was fun but I like the family ward better.  Every once in a while I may go with them but I'm not sure.  It was Fast Sunday so there was a Linger Longer/Break the Fast after church.  Their ward is all backwards they have Relief Society first and Sacrament last.  I was all mixed up.

Tuesday Chelsey, Anthony, Nick and I took Lexus and Snoopy for a walk to the Straw Market.  On the way back we stopped at the park because they thought if we stayed there long enough their mom would come pick us up.  Mainly because they are lazy as all else but I won't get into that.

Monday we all went on a nice walk through the woods and stopped at the 711 to get slushies.

This week is going to be way crazy as well...Monday I may be going to the zoo with Cyann and her family as well as Miriam and her boyfriend Ryan.  It should be fun I totally haven't seen Cyann in between five and seven years.  I can't wait to meet her daughter Lilly.  They are going to Thanksgiving Point on Tuesday and if I can't make it to the zoo with them I may try to go on Tuesday.  Tuesday and/or Wednesday I am going to go out and stop every where that is within walking distance on a job hunt.  Thursday, the singles ward, is having an Enrichment Night that sounds fun and I might go to.  If I don't have a job by Friday I will be watching Ava Jayne and Simon for Debbie and Chris while they are at a wedding in Bountiful.  That part is still up in the air...depending on job.  Saturday and Sunday I don't have plans yet.  The following Monday will be dinner with Jeremy who I haven't seen in a little over a year and a half.

That is the eventful week I have had and the eventful week I am about to have.  Oh yeah...reading in July kind of sucked...I think I finished one book and that is it.  Lame I know...hopefully this month is better.

family night...

So tonight being Monday was Family Night in the Barnett house.  We went walking on this nature trail near the mountains with the three dogs.  I posted a few pictures on facebook (well will be here soon...) most of which are nature pics but there are few with people in them.  It was amazing and I believe they decided they were going again next Monday...but earlier and longer.  Afterwards, we got slurpees at the 711 and came home for scriptures and prayers.

In other news I have been up here since last Thursday and it has been fun.  Thursday I left Orem at about 11 am or so...and got back to Pleasant Grove at around 12:30/1:00.  I unpacked my books and movies that night and just kind of hung out.  I also started watching a show called The Tribe via YouTube.  I used to watch it all the time on StarZ and I am finding that I have never seen the first season.  I must have come in on the second or third season.  The crazy thing is there are five seasons and each season has almost 60 episodes and i'm only about halfway through the first season.

Friday...hmmm...what did I do???  Friday we just kind of hung out.  Friday night we went down to the church parking lot and set off fireworks.  I love watching them so that was fun...Amanda, Eric and Lucas all joined us.  Oh and Amanda spent some time with us that day before the fireworks.  Ummm...after fireworks Tammy, Andrea, Miriam and I all went off to Wal-Mart.  I bought green hangers...I mean when you can buy 18 hangers for $2.00 why not...oh and it didn't hurt that well they are almost the exact shade of my room here.  We came home and I started unpacking my clothes since I finally had hangers...I seem to have lost my brown dress though and I don't remember wearing it or packing it in the last two months but who knows.

Saturday...um...also another nothing day...at least nothing I can remember.  Sunday of course was church...I love my new ward but I will miss Kimberly's lessons when she teaches.  Oh well I will get over it this teacher is awesome as well.  That has been my experience over the last few days.

Something I almost forgot...

Last week was the week for running into random people that I haven't seen in YEARS.  First, last either Wednesday or Thursday I ran into Carson Walker.  She and Dave and a friend were walking to the Movies 8...yes I was quite surprised that there was one here too...and I was waiting for the bus to go home after spending hours walking in the heat going from fabric store to fabric store.  It was kinda funny since the last time I saw her was the end of summer term 2003 at BYU-Idaho...sure we randomly chat on facebook but weird to see her in person again.

On Saturday I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House a second time.  As we were leaving the Temple we ran into Christie Sue Hendrickson.  We used to be really close friends mainly through my cousins but also due to church activities and all that.  I hadn't actually seen her since Seth's Missionary farewell party which was in 2002 or 2003 I can't remember.  It was so crazy.

So Sunday I came home between Sacrament and Sunday School to grab my scriptures because I had forgotten them.  In my heels I have difficulty on the stairs here so I went over to the elevator and lo and behold who do I run into but Elizabeth Neeley with her laundry waiting to go up to the second floor.  Apparently she is supposed to be in our ward at church but I haven't seen her there ever.  Needless to say I got up to my room on the third floor and posted a comment on facebook and left without grabbing my scriptures anyways.

I find it quite ironic that the week before I move out of Orem and back up to Ogden I run into all these people.  But there is a purpose behind everything...what that purpose is I don't know but eventually it will all come together.

It's a crazy life I lead...

So Ogden here I come.  I am leaving the awful town of Orem...I love the people not so much the area.  I am going to a place full of life and energy and leaving behind the drab and boring.  When am I doing this you may be asking yourselves...why on Friday morning.  Yes, I will be back in Ogden at least until the end of this year beginning of next year when I will be moving back east...NOT to Pennsylvania Never to Pennsylvania...but Tim will have to go back to AIT training which will be in Maryland so I will be moving there for 3 months while he completes that.  Where we go after that is still a mystery.

In light of the fact that I am indeed moving back up to Ogden I am very excited to meet the one and only Simon Heiner Cope at last.  I am also hoping to get my job at Old Navy back...although if you have any leads for an office position available ANYWHERE...or a runner position that is willing to maybe provide a car...just saying...lol...let me know.  I have been looking into some jobs but I have to re-update my resume...oh wait no I have to make a brand new resume because when I got my new hard drive I thought I had it saved in an e-mail...totally just checked and I don't.  Oh well...I can handle this...I mean it is just a piece of paper that represents who I am and what I have done in my life.  Yeah, I can do it.

In other news...this past week I have had a ton of time to just sit and think and guess what...I don't like to have time to think.  I tend to get a lot of wacky ideas when I have time to think.  This time is no different but I am still going to try it out.  First of all...I am going to look into selling both Avon and Mary Kay.  That way when I am moving from base to base and if it takes me a while to find a job I will still be ok because I will have a back-up income until I do...also if I do that WHEN I have kids I will be able to be a stay at home mom and still be able to work...if that makes sense.

The second idea I came up with is...well everybody knows about the blankets I make for all the kids...well I have decided I am going to try and sell them.  If they are a hit I may try to sell the chocolates I make for Christmas and Easter and all those chocolate holiday's.  I have been told by several people that they would totally buy them if I sold them.  Of course that was a few years ago when I was working at Graebel...but I am sure they have simply gotten better.  As of right now I am going to try to sell one tester blanket and leave it at that.  I am smart enough to know when to leave well enough alone...if it doesn't sell for a profit or at all I am over the idea.  Of course it would be nice if it took off...lol.

What else did I want to mention on here???  Oh yeah, I am so mad at the Pittsburgh Pirate's.  I was reading the news letter I get in my email today.  They totally traded LaRoche the 1st baseman for two players.  When you can get two players for one I think that should be a hint that you are making a HUGE mistake.  I mean sure the Pirate's still have Doumit (catcher) and Batista (outfielder) but you lose one good player eventually you lose them all.  It was very depressing news for me.  These three players were not only the best but also my favorites and now we lost one.  I know I am nuts about baseball but it is me we are talking about.

Hmmm...I think that is all the randomness I have for you today.

Poetry...and other random thoughts...

For those of you interested in reading some of the poems I wrote check out this link...

http://www.poetry.com/Publications/search.asp?First=ashley&Last=Mattocks

I don't know who the first person listed is but under the last two Ashley Nicole Mattocks are all the poems I have posted online.  In other words they are my best poems.  My friend Kjirsten Marie Barker from BYU-I hooked me up with this site.  She has some on here too...somewhere.  In case your interested that is.

In other news...I finished all my errands today and I have supplies to make three blankets.  I am behind by four so I need to get stuff for just one more and I'm good.  The three I am going to be making this week are for, Simon Cope, Matthew Chugg and Aubrey Miller.  The fourth one is for Lucas Chugg who is almost 2 so I think he will get his for his birthday...that way I don't have to rush to find the perfect fabric.  They are going to be so freaking cute.  I love picking out fabric to make blankets.  It is really relaxing and fun.  Sure making them is just as relaxing and fun but it is also hot and painful.  So for the one to three days it takes to make the blankets I am miserable but relaxed...make sense...I know it doesn't but I'm ok with that.  I am concerned about getting one finished this week and that is the one for Matthew Chugg.  The others aren't quite as pressing since I don't even have an address to send Aubrey Miller's too yet.  Simon has waited 4 months as well so he can wait just a little longer.

Umm...literally everything but my books and bathroom are packed and that is only because I have nowhere to put them.  Of course I left enough clothes for the next two weeks unpacked and I still have a lot in the kitchen as well.  I am an active packer...once I start I do it all the way.  Unless I am trying to be discreet and not let anybody know I'm leaving until necessary...like I did with the move to Virginia.  I love packing and moving because it gives me a chance to go through and get rid of things I haven't looked at, worn or used since I moved into that place.  Mainly worn of course.

Well I am off to work on Lucas's blanket.  Update again soon I promise.

Monday, July 13, 2009

So it has been a boring couple of weeks to say the least so there isn't really anything to say here.  Last week I went through a little bit of depression I got so bored.  I lost my phone for like three days...maybe it was four I don't remember.  Then the internet in the building went down for a few days.  The ATM machine at the gas station on the corner was out of order so I couldn't get cash to do anything or catch the bus anywhere.  It was kind of depressing sitting here alone in my apartment unable to go anywhere and sometimes even talk to anybody.  So I spent the week starting to go through my things again and packing again.  All my winter clothes fit in one suitcase and I have enough to fill about half of my other suitcase.  Where does all my stuff go...lol.  I started packing for two reasons...one being I was bored and two being I wanted to be completely packed in case Amanda went into labor and then I could just catch a bus and the trains up to see her and all my stuff would be packed for when I have to move out at the end of the month.

I did find out a little bit ago that I will be getting more than I though back with my deposit because they kept failing to tell me I was paying too much rent each month.  I could have sworn they told me it was $190 a month but really it was only $180 per month.  So I think I will be getting $270 back.  Maybe it was only $220 I can't remember.  But still that is a good amount to save up and put aside for oh I don't know a trip to somewhere fun...lol...or better yet to paying off debt.  Which I know is what Debbie wants to hear.

Today...I am off to try the ATM machine at the corner gas station again so that she can go out and run her errands...like returning her overdue library books which are overdue because the dang ATM machine was  broken to begin with.  Then she needs to hit up DI, DT, and Ross for a couple things.

Tonight is FHE at the Bishop's house.  It's a Temple lesson because on Saturday my ward is going to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House.  Yes I am going again and I am way excited about it too.  I went with my soon to be Sister in Laws the first time and now I get to go with Kimberly and Christy (my cousins).  I am also very excited to see Harry Potter on what Wednesday...crazy.  I'll go alone if nobody else can go with me...that how I went and saw the last 3 alone.  I enjoy going to the movies by myself...I know lame.  I am kind of tempted to take the bus up to Ogden and go see it with Tammy and Andrea and all them when they go see it but I think I will wait on that.

Other than that there isn't much else to say.  Oh that's right I also have to make a trip to a fabric store.  I wonder if JoAnn's is having any kind of sale right now.  I have to make three blankets before I go back to Ogden...well at least one has to be finished by then.  Two can wait a bit longer and one I kind of don't even care if I start anytime soon because I don't have an address to mail it too...lol.

Now that is all I have to say.  I am off to actually start my day.  I will try to update more often.

Crazy 3 weeks...

  • So I am home in Orem. I have paid my rent and now I have to go shopping and to the library to return all these books. I think I'm going to have to do that tomorrow though because guess what it is about ready to rain. Imagine that...I get home a couple hours before it rains...what luck.
  • Anyways I had a great three weeks in Pleasantview/Ogden...we went swimming, had a couple fires where we roasted marchmallows/made s'mores. We had a party to celebrate Matthew. I got to go to another Temple Open house. I was there for Heritage Day so I got to see Fireworks and a Parade. All in all it was a very fun filled three weeks and I'm glad I went.
  • I actually didn't want to come home but I knew I had to. Things are all crazy and up in the air right now in multiple different areas of my life but I am working through it all.
  • If you want to see pictures and video's you will have to visit either my facebook or myspace accounts. I will keep you updated more often. Miss you all.

Update...

So folks I am totally writing this from Nick's computer and I couldn't remember my password so it had to be changed...which sucks more than I can say. It is amazingly warm outside and I love it...well I would if the only thing I had clean wasn't a long sleeved jacket that I wore on the way down here. I am waiting for the washer to be free to do some laundry so that I can get out of my PJ's today. It only slightly sucks. My computer is pretty much dead which also sucks...it won't get past the loading screen. So I may be going home without it on Monday...unless Amanda and Eric can figure out what is wrong with it over the weekend. Imagine that...I just had it fixed by Chris what in November or December. It only sucks because all my family history is on there and I would hate to lose it all AGAIN... Other than that life is good and I'm having fun...miss and love you all.

General Amnesty!!!!

  • So I was sitting here thinking and going through the plans we have made this past week when it comes to WEDDING PLANS and we have accomplished quite a bit and will have accomplished a lot more by the end of this week. However when I get home I am kind of screwed because I have to pay rent and buy at least two weeks worth of groceries...and I am out of money. I barely have enough to get me home on Monday. It's all good though.
  • Today we are apparently going to Amanda's. I am so excited to see her new house. Thursday we are also having a "Celebrate Matthew" party at her house and one day she wants to take "Bridals" so that I have something to put up at the wedding...I hate having my picture taken but I think I could deal with that. She also said she would love to help (go with) me register...which I greatly appreciate.
  • I also want to find a day to spend some time with Deb, Ava and Simon but as of right now the rest of my week may be very very busy and I don't know if I will make it unless maybe I have Miriam drop me off on her way to work one day and pick me up afterwards...maybe Friday...but we will see. I will of course call before I come no worries about that.
  • My plan is to head back to Orem on Monday since my library books are due back on Tuesday and a couple of them are on hold for somebody else which means I can't renew them and there is no way I am paying a late fee. When I go back I will most likely only be there another two and a half weeks before I make my way back up here to Ogden. At least that is the plan as of right now.
  • We will see what the rest of the week brings and I will keep you updated...talk to you soon.

Randomness of the past few days...

  • So I am in Ogden...well Pleasantview...and enjoying my time here but it is going by way too fast. I caught the bus at 9:45 in the morning on Thursday and travelled via bus, trax and frontrunner to reach my destination...and got here at oh about 2 pm. That's right a little over 4 hours to get to a place that would have taken about 2 hours by car. But the trains were awesome and I can't wait to take them on the way home...probably next Monday. What makes it even funnier is Thursday night I went with Tammy and Andrea to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House which is about oh 20 to 45 minutes away from my apartment...depends on who is driving and what the traffic is like. We were going to go see The Proposal the next morning so I changed for bed and was reading when Chelsea came in and said Tammy and Andrea wanted to go to the midnight showing which I was fine with so I got dressed again and we went to the movie. It was awesome and I so want to see it again.
  • Friday was kind of uneventful. Amanda came over and we all just kind of hung out. Saturday was Nick and Maxine's birthdays...wow June is a busy month for birthdays and it just keeps getting busier...lol. Amanda, Eric and Lucas came over in the morning for the party and hung out for a little bit afterwards. I played some catch with Nick with his new baseball glove and balls. We went grocery shopping and just had fun to say the least.
  • Today...Sunday...was of course Father's Day so we had another big breakfast with Amanda, Eric and Lucas there...they didn't stay long today. Then we all got ready for church. It was kind of weird because the lessons we had today are the same lessons I had last week and I hate to say it but Kimberly's lesson last week was much better than the one we had today. We came home and had dinner...I called Dad and even talked to Aunt Brenda a bit today. I did a lot of reading and Anthony decided to teach me how to play City of Heroes so I spent most of the night installing it on my computer. Nick read his drivers manuel out loud...it was all good and kind of funny...and we all just hung out. I figured it would be a good time to update my blog before I forgot everything I wanted to say.
  • Now that I am connected to the internet I will try to keep you all updated more. I think for now I am going to go to bed. My eyes are killing me and I really need to take an allergy pill. Allergy pills help me survive living here to say the least...even if they make me tired it is so worth it. Lat'rs...

Crazy busy day...

So there is a lot to do today and not a lot of time in which to do...at least I wish I had more time to do everything. I have gotten a couple not so important things done so far but as I want to leave first thing in the morning I won't have time to do any of this tomorrow...if I have to I will push back the time I leave but only if I have to. Some of the things I have to do include...
  • Laundry
  • Clean my room and possibly the kitchen
  • Pack
  • Go to the Bank and the library...no biggie if I don't make it to the library though
But hey it's worth the time and stress in order to be able to go up and see all the people I miss so much...and finally meet little Simon Heiner Cope. I think that is all I have for now so I will talk to you all later...

I fell off the horse...

So I was doing really good at updating this but then at the end of May things got kind of crazy and now it is almost the end of June. So here is a brief update because nothing too exciting has happened.
  • I have gotten into working on Family History again. I work on it for hours on end almost every day. It is very relaxing to say the least.
  • I have also gotten into two new shows thanks to my cousins...Grey's Anatomy which I am completely caught up with (well almost)...and The OC which I'm only a few episodes into...both are excellent.
  • I turned 25...I'm old now...but this was the first good birthday I have had in years...since I was like 16 I think...lots of fun...and a crazy week.
  • Our apartment has been clean for two weeks and I have only had to clean the kitchen once...it is so nice to not have to clean it every day...but that ends tomorrow but I am leaving Thursday so I don't have to deal with it...YAY!!!
  • I have made it over halfway through my goal to read 75 books this year. At the end of May I had read 33 and now have almost finished 40...
  • I have started trying to learn German but I'm not good with other languages so I am feeling about ready to give up there.
  • I got my hair cut...gave Kimberly and Cassie free reign to do whatever they thought would look best and told them to surprise me...I love it...they want to color it too but we are waiting for a time when Cassie isn't too busy to do that...so I guess I have to give in and post pictures before it is finished...which sucks...
  • Thursday morning I will be going to Ogden and can't wait to get up there and see everybody I miss so very much. It is going to be a very long trip via bus but it's all good...maybe I will get the few things I accidentally left at Deb and Chris's...my hoodies and a pair of lounge pants and a tink t-shirt...we never did find my BYU hoodie which sucks that was my favorite and the other I left in her car one day...
So I think that is about all that has happened in the past four weeks. I will try to keep up with this blog better from now on I promise...oh and I just remembered I need to get my license renewed it expired the 4th of June...the day after my birthday...which sucks...not like I need it for anything but identification right now.

Brand new day...

So yesterday was a really bad day...today everybody is home so we will try to have a good day. I am going to the library to return 12 of the 13 books I got out two weeks ago. Kind of crazy I know...apparently I need to get more per trip to last me the whole 4 weeks they are allowed to be out...lol. I am also working on getting the rest of my books from Pennsylvania...at least that is I have enlisted the help of somebody in Pennsylvania to help me get them. I am also going to go to DI today and get myself some summer clothes today...as all I own is jeans I need shorts for this Utah heat...well I could deal with jeans but I can not deal with no sun on my legs this year...aweful just aweful looking...lol. If I have some money left over I will go to Wal-Mart and get supplies to start project/blanket number two of four. Well it really hurts to type with my right hand so I am going to go. Wait I guess I need to explain why my right hand hurts so much. Well it's not technically my right hand just three of the fingers that it hurts to bend. Well I was moving my dresser yesterday and I cut the base of my pinky, ring and pointer fingers while dusting off the top. And by base I mean the point where your finger meets the hand...where your hand actually curls...it hurts to straighten them and bend them too much so yeah it's not fun and that is enough because well IT FREAKING HURTS!!!! LOL...more soon I promise.

Grumpy Gus

So today I am a total grouch and there is nobody around for it to effect so I'm not worried about controlling my attitude. I got 4 hours of sleep exactly last night and could so use a nap but there is no time for that. But things just don't see to be making much progress today. I don't know whether it is because I am tired or what but I don't feel like I have made any progress on anything today. I am irritated, hungry, wanting to spend money and wanting to be in Germany. I just can't get a break today. Oh well...that's life...

Kicking and Screaming...

  • So for those of you who haven't seen and well who hasn't but I am totally being picked on by my cousins today. For peets sake the one hasn't seen me for more than three or four days in years and that three or four days last year doesn't count because he was in town to see Great Grandpa Ketcham and I was up early most days then. So in the words of Miriam "Don't judge me!!!" Lol...I love my cousins though. I know Jeremy was just teasing but I wonder about Christy because she is the one who dragged Kimberly into it. She says she was just playing but I don't think she was. I think she truly thinks I sleep till noon every day.
  • Anyways, yes there was one day that I slept till almost noon and that was only because I had a really crappy nights sleep which included about 2 hours of sleep between 3:30 am (when I went to bed) and 8 am and then I finally crashed and got some good sleep at 8 am. So all in all I still only got about 5 and a half hours of sleep that day and was up till 2 am like most mornings. Right now it is very very early in the morning when I even go to sleep and that is by choice. I could go to bed at like 10 pm but as I talk to Tim after he gets back from PT and before he goes to work. That is of course a personal choice and some nights I do go to bed early but that is like a very rare occasion.
  • Also in the morning I actually wake up anywhere between 7 and 8 in the morning but I sit around and read for a few hours every morning. Usually I will read the scriptures and write in my journal before I start my day. It is a great start to any day. As you all know I am an avid reader and writer so it should be no surprise to any of you that, that is how I start my day.
  • Wow...I'm sorry guys I totally did not mean to go off on a rant like this when you guys have like no idea what I'm talking about. If you have no idea what I'm talking about and why I am defending myself and ranting like this then go to facebook and look at the status message with like 20 comments from today and you will understand. Thanks for listening (reading)!!

Welcome to the Randomness of ME

  • So I am bored if you couldn't tell...I spent all day yesterday sewing, all day Saturday cleaning or shopping and all day Friday and today job hunting. That is pretty much what my life revolves around now. I did however find out that both local Old Navy stores are hiring so I filled out applications for both of them today and I have already been told by the Orem store that there is a good chance of getting in there. Also downstairs at the 5 Buck Pizza they will be hiring soon too.
  • I finally made it halfway through my goal of books to read this year...it is kind of crazy. But I am going to have to take a break from the Tamora Pierce books. Not that they aren't excellent books because they are but because after reading 4 or 5 in a row they all sound alike. Then again I was working my way through the Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens series...I got halfway through the third book in the Circle Opens set (Cold Fire) when I couldn't take it anymore. So I am moving on to some different authors and genres of books. But I have like five other books from the library to read so it's no big deal. Amongst them is A Lion Among Men which is the thrid book in the Wicked series...Gregory Maguire is an awesome author but I have to say Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister has to be the easiest to read ergo my favorite. I have also been reading a lot of Jane Austen remakes so to speak...or sequels.
  • I am also working on 3 baby blankets a regular blanket and possibly a pillow. However I have never done an adult sized blanket or a pillow so I am experimenting there. I am also going to start doing some cross stitching again. I used to love all those needle and sewing crafts but I haven't done them in years so I figure to keep my mind and hands busy in all this free time I have any more I will pick them up again.
  • So Sunday started a Family History class at church (instead of Sunday School classes). I totally love it because we are actually going to be doing the research. Now I just wish I had all my files and data out here so that I know where I left off and who I am going to be looking for. I am a Family History buff as well. Then I love history so why not know my own...lol.
  • Hmmm....There is so much random crap floating around in my head that I can't keep it all straight. So I am going to go and download the PAF program for my family history class and figure out how I am going to get all of my original data here. Oh and finish my first blanket...and maybe do some reading...I don't know...I'm going to go do something...lol.

Crazy girl on the loose

  • So you would think somebody with lots of time on their hands due to being sick for three days would take the time to post something on here, wouldn't you? Well apparently not me. Yes I had some sort of cold/sinus/allergy thing on Sunday and I have been in bed almost since then. Yesterday I went out to get my passport and got there just after they closed so I came straight back home. I made a to do list on Monday night and haven't done any of it. So today I am heading out here as soon as I check all of my sites and finish getting ready which includes grabbing something to eat later...but what...I don't know that pb & j would be all that great on an sesame seed bun or jalepeno and cheese bread and that's all we have. LOL...maybe just some fruit...lol.
  • So things are going along great. Although, I am once again looking for a job. Feature Films For Families closed after I was finally starting to get it. Which sucks but there is something I am missing I just don't know what. I am headed to a couple staffing agencies today AFTER I get my passport...that is the most important thing I do in the coming weeks.
  • Life is a crazy thing you know...what not even six months ago I was telling myself I would never get married and look at me now...some things you can never know. Although, I wouldn't change a thing. There is a reason for everything and everything happens in it's own time. Time is a very fickle thing and I'm glad of that because well so are people...lol.
  • Well I should head off and finish getting ready to go out...but before I do let me just say that in the past week and a half I have finished like five books. Is that crazy or what? I am catching up to where I should be in my goal to read 75 new books this year. If I counted correctly I have finished 23 this year...mainly just since the end of March beginning of April...it took me a while to get started this year but I am working to catch up. By the end of the week I should have at least 3 more finished. We will see what happens though. I am off to the library today to return 5 of the 9 books I borrowed last Tuesday...kinda crazy...and get some more that I have on hold. I love the Provo library. By the end of next week I will have read every single Tamora Pierce book out there but her newest one...which will have to wait until the end of the year...stupid me...lol.
  • Ok so now I am really off. I will update soon.

A Walk Down Memory Lane...

So I found a bunch of disks with pictures from June 2003 to at least 2006 or 2007. I can't believe how much I changed over the last five years.
HS Graduation 2003...July or August 2003...Christmas Day 2003...Winter/Spring 2004...Summer 2004...Christmas 2004...2005... 2006...2007... 2008... this first one is Shawn Kidner(the biggest mistake of my life) and then me2009...

July Hurry Up and get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm thinking that May and June need to fly by this year...I mean faster than they normally do. I want July to come as fast as it can and then the next couple months need to go fast and then the rest of the year needs to go slow. Does that make sense? Well if it doesn't I'm sorry but I don't know how to explain it better. Recently my life has been full of difficult times and interesting twists and turns. I have been thrown curve ball after curve ball and I got through them all without too many issues. I felt like the problems that kept piling on would never end but I knew that I was pursuing the right path so I kept moving forward. I knew I wouldn't be thrown anything I couldn't handle at the time...but at one point I felt truly over loaded but after asking for help everything fell into place and I knew what I needed to do to fix each problem. So now I have a decent job...the people I listen to everyday are idiots but the pay and hours are good so I'm not going to complain too much. I found a new place to move too without a problem. I am getting married in July (no date just yet but definitely July). I am also working hard to pay off my debt before the end of Summer. Things are finally falling into place. Now there are just some smaller and easier decisions to make one of which I need to spend some major time thinking about but only I can make these decisions and that sucks. I am proving everybody wrong so far with my move out here and yes there have been a few setbacks but nothing I couldn't handle. I am happier and more alive out here than I ever was back east, even more than when I lived in Virginia and I didn't think that was possible. Life has a plan for everybody and this was the path I needed to take to find what I needed from life. Here's to being happy and content with the trials and tribulations that are thrown my way. I love waking up to the mountains and knowing that the reason I was meant to come out here is to enjoy life. Life is great!!!

Been a crazy few days...

I don't even know when the last time I posted an update was but well here is what has been going on since oh Friday night.
  • Friday...I can't for the life of me remember what I did during the day but Friday night I got all spiffed up and went out with Kimberly, Seth, Cassie and Christy. We went to the Provo Towne Center (Mall) to Red Robin. We had a wait of like 40 minutes so Kimber, Christy and I went to this awesome shoe store called Sole Envy. OMG!!! I so wanted like a bunch of the shoes but being on a budget kept me from doing so. At Red Robin we had a blast, we couldn't stop laughing. It was so great!
  • Saturday...I just kinda hung out at the apartment because I wasn't feeling well. I did make a trip to the library to return books I had so that they didn't get lost in the move and all. Other than that it was just a hang out and hope to feel better day.
  • Sunday...I woke up still not feeling well and I slept most of the day. I did start packing up my room at about um...6:30 and did a bit of that, I figured that if I had to work every night and still had to do the whole clean check thing as well I had better get as much packing as I could done as soon as I could.
  • Monday...I started work and for a call center I really don't mind it at all. It is actually all computer operated and I rarely have to talk to anybody. The people are really cool too. Then I went home and packed some more as my roommate was doing the same thing until midnight. So it was almost 1 am when we both got to bed.
  • Tuesday...Well I did some packing in the morning because I knew I would be getting home late. Then I headed off to work. I didn't home until like 10:30 and I did my laundry and finished packing completely. I didn't get to sleep until like almost 2 am.
  • Wednesday...I woke up at like 6 and laid in bed till about 7:30 when I fell back to sleep till 8 when I got up and packed up anything I had left out to use the following day and my bedding. I then went straight into clean check cleaning. I picked the livingroom and I totally don't know why I did that but it doesn't matter. I cleaned till almost 1 and then walked to the bus stop where the bus was almost 30 minutes late which landed me at work seconds before I was too start. After work I waited for Kimberly to get home and we went to pick up all my things and I moved out and in, in about the same time it took me to just move in last time...not that that is a bad thing. I didn't get to sleep until like 12:30 this morning.
  • Today(Thursday)...Well I got up at 7 and got ready for the day. Kimberly dropped me back at my old apartment so that I could finish the cleaning. I started at 8 and finished everything but vaccuuming by like 9:30 so I had to wait for my roommates to wake up before I did that. I grabbed the few things I had forgotten and headed out at 11. I did my grocery shopping (I totally got 2 1/2 lbs of apples for like $1.50 2 ok packages of strawberries for $1.25 and a pineapple for $0.99...sweet deals) and got back to my new apartment at between 12:30 and 1. So I relaxed for an hour before work. I obviously went to work and now I am typing this. I am heading to bed soon as it is already 10:40 and as you can see I haven't had a lot of sleep this week at all.
Makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring but I really don't have anything besides work on the schedule for tomorrow and that doesn't start till 2 pm so it is a relaxation day to be sure...I will update soon I promise.

A post of music video's sorry...you have to enjoy them just like me...

Just for the Record Live by Jordin Sparks...one of my new favorites... It Happens Live by Sugarland...another new favorite... Johnny and June by Heidi Newfield There was another one I wanted to post on here as well but well there is no embed code so when I find a copy of it I will add it to my blog. Sorry I am having a musically enhanced day and I wanted to share some of the good ones I have come across in the last few days. I love music it is everything to me and it is so very easy to express yourself through songs. These are songs I have been listening too for the last two weeks...well since last Friday. Love them all.

Random thought of the day...

So this is going to be really random but I am thinking about growing my hair out long like it used to be. For those of you who remember that or knew me then what do we think? If I do should I go with bangs again...or maybe the side sweep bangs? I don't know! Would it look good long with no bangs? I would prefer not to go that way at all. Maybe I will ask Cassie and Kimberly what they think. They would be good judges as Cassie is the manager at a salon and Kimberly well I just trust her judgment. Seth would be a really good judge as he is one of the first people to ever cut my hair with play scissors. That was the first time my hair was ever short too. See I don't know because I am just starting to get some natural curl back in my hair. Sure it only last a short time but it is nice to have that back. I don't know I am ranting though. So give me your opinion and I'll go from there. Maybe I will find an old picture of me with long hair somewhere and try to post it for those of you who have never seen me with long hair.

Cquazy Week and it's only half over...

  • What can I say I am alive and well...lol. Things couldn't be going better at all this week. Last week was pretty crappy but I'm not going into that at all because it isn't worth it. I had an awesome Easter Sunday with my cousins and on that night I set myself a goal that I had to have a job by Wednesday. I love hanging out with my cousins they are genuinely good people and that is all there is too it. It was great to just hang out and play games and talk. MOODS is an awesome game and I can't wait to get the chance to play it again.
  • So I got lucky on the job front on Tuesday when I walked into Featured Films for Families in Orem (right across the street from Kimber and Christy's apartment) filled out the application and had an immediate interview. They discussed it quickly and they wanted me to start yesterday but I had a previous trip to the Salt Lake City Temple planned and I was not going to back out of that it is too big an experience to pass up. So I said I could start today but they decided that I should start on Monday at 2 pm and work till 9 pm...that is going to be my shift every day Monday through Friday and every other Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. I really don't want to be at a call center but a job is a job and I'm not going to complain. Especially since it is $8 and hour plus a $1 per hour incentive as long as you are there for your scheduled shift and stay the whole time. I think he said after a month the pay goes up to $9 an hour with the same pay incentive. I am excited about that. I am thinking about taking a morning job somewhere as well. I just don't know yet. The more I can bring in money wise all the better for me to say the least. I still hope to get my debt completely out of the way this year at the latest. I don't care if it takes me working 3 jobs I will get my money situation under control.
  • So I just went to buy myself a new power cord for my laptop because mine is about dead it keeps switching between power cord and battery mode with the slightest touch. It is annoying as all else. But so I go to order one and my Dell card is on hold. So I am going to wait until I have my first paycheck and order it then, hopefully for cheaper than $66 plus shipping and handling. It is kind of crazy how much it costs for just a power cord. I am tempted to just upgrade my laptop and get a new one but it took too much time to make a dent in paying off the Dell card and I am still paying for the laptop my sister fried from Best Buy, how sad is that.
  • Yesterday I had the chance to head up to the Salt Lake City Temple and do baptisms for the dead. It was a much needed trip to the Temple and I am grateful that I got to go. Here are some pictures of outside afterwards...more to come when my roommate sends me the pictures with us in them. It was just easier to deal with one camera in the freezing cold snowy day than come up with several people to take pictures for us.
  • So that has been the first four days of my week so we will see what happens the rest of the week. If you haven't noticed I love taking pictures of historic places or awesome scenery and I have actually thought about majoring or minoring in photography. Or at least taking classes in it...maybe one day I will, who knows. I will update again soon...I promise.

MONSTEROUS AMOUNTS OF CONFUSION!!!!

  • I am so very upset about things in life right now. I have nobody that will really understand what is going on so I won't go into details. Let's just say CONFUSION has been INFUSED into my life.
  • Anyways, today is Easter and I don't feel very Eastery. There are so many concerns and issues on my mind and I don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going. I don't know why things are difficult for me but I know there is a reason for everything and I am just trying to figure out what that reason is. I have an idea of where I am moving after this place...if I can get the deposit money necessary and the rest of rent due in the next what two weeks. I am still looking for a job and I don't want to have to depend on somebody else's hospitality like I did for so long before I came down here. I am making it on my own here I just have to find a way to continue making it on my own.
  • I have so many questions floating around in my mind that need answers and hopefully I will get the answers I need today. I have been waiting for so long to get answers to some of the questions that are floating around in my mind and today I may get answers for them. I am so out of it due to lack of sleep and a roaming mind so I am going to go and try to calm my mind and maybe take a short nap so that I am more aware for my Patriarchal Blessing in about an hour.
  • I will update you all later...

Random facts in the business of life

Life has been crazy lately. This past weekend was General Conference and for the first time ever I watched every session...well besides the Preisthood session. I enjoyed spending time with the Gruber's on Saturday. Sunday I enjoyed Conference from my bedroom. Today I have been going crazy calling places that weren't hiring three weeks ago but told me to try back in a couple weeks. Most of them still aren't hiring but I am going to walk down to TGI Friday's and apply there...the girl I talked to this morning said they might have an opening and I might be able to talk to somebody today about a job. She never said if they were hiring but whatever. I just applied for an office job in N. Carolina for the summer. FREE housing and $2000 a week I believe it said. But I just realized...yes I may get free housing but how the heck would I get out there??? I never thought about that till just now. OH well...well I am off for now...later

Two very touching songs in video form...

BETHANY JOY GALEOTTI (Songs In My Pocket) One Tree Hill "Manhattan From The Sky" Montage
So these two videos are on myspace but I love them. Both singers are on One Tree Hill and that is where the one video is from. I just love the songs and the voices. The meaning behind the songs isn't bad either lol. A real post later.

GOOD NEWS!!!!

  • So today I got on the Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic job site...yes all three companies are part of Gap, Inc. Anyways, so I got on the site and the Gap is totally hiring in both local malls. I totally applied to both of them. I hope I get one of them...it means I would get my Old Navy discount back. See of the three afore mentioned stores Old Navy is considered the discount store and Banana Republic would be considered the outrageously priced New York fashion boutique, so the Gap lays somewhere in the middle. At least in my eyes. The sad thing is they all sell basically the same clothes just a different tag on the label. It's just weird.
  • In other news, I got my three disc edition of TWILIGHT today. It is about time. For a 2-3 day delivery it took almost a week and a half to get here. It sat in Minnesota for about a week before it made it to Salt Lake yesterday and Orem today. It finally reached my door at about noon or so. Kind of crazy...but hey it is a THREE DISC edition and it is freaking TWILIGHT.
  • Hmmm...what else can I update you all on? Two more interviews this week so far. I have one at Build-A-Bear Workshop on Wednesday at noon and the other one is for an office position Thursday at 9:30 AM...I may need some help getting up for that one...since I have to catch the bus at like 8:30 or something crazy like that. Just means shower and straighten the hair the night before and maybe take something to put me to sleep the night before so that I'm not sleeping in till 9.
  • I don't really have much else to rant about...except for my stupid video player keeps not working correctly on me. I re installed it yesterday and watched part of Vanity Fair (with Reese Witherspoon) and when I went to finish it this morning it wouldn't work again. I am so freaking confused about what is going on with the stupid thing. So I guess in order to watch Twilight I need to re install it again and go from there. I AM GOING TO WATCH TWILIGHT TONIGHT IF IT KILLS ME AND I HAVE TO REINSTALL THE STUPID THING TEN TIMES. The odd thing is it works until I shut down my computer and then it no longer works. Anybody have any ideas why that might be?
  • Oh and one more thing. I have totally started looking for another new place to live come April 23rd...the end of this contract...and I think I totally found it already. I just started looking this morning but I found this place not far from where I currently am for $100 a month (end of April to end of August) with no deposit and the last month's rent is free. How cool is that? It is a condo not far from where I currently am and way affordable. It is the perfect amount of rent for me with my mega bills standing in front of me. It is a shared room in a condo and I think I am going to take it. Gotta get a job first...come on Gap, Inc call me for an interview ASAP...and maybe an office job...yay for killing myself to make money this summer.
  • I still haven't decided what I am going to do with the $300 rebate I am supposed to be getting. I have three options. Save it (part of an Emergency Fund)...use it to snowball...or us it for things I want. Don't worry Deb if you are reading this it will most likely go to one of the first two. Now if I could have found the Complete Collection of Gilmore Girls for under $100 I might have had to get it but I can't so the rebate should be safe...lol. I know you have an opinion on this Deb and if you are reading this I would really like to know what that opinion is...afterall you are my Accountability Partner and all.
  • Oh and this weekend is General Conference. I am way excited about that. This will be the second Conference I have watched in almost three years and well I am just really blessed to be able to watch it from where ever I want. I just don't know where that will be yet.
  • I have been a reading and writing monster lately. Now if I could finish a few of the like six books I am currently working my way through. Yes that's right I am currently reading like six books...I did finally finish two of them so I was reading like eight books. Three of them are audiobooks and I should finish at least two of them soon. When it comes to writing I spent hours at the library starting to type up and edit the story I have been writing after the most recent block I had.
  • Anyways, I think that is all I have for now. I will fill you all in more when there is something important to say or I remember some more random things to mention. Oh I do hope I can make it to Institute tonight. I haven't been while out here yet and I really want to go. Talk to you all later.

In the zone...

So last night I totally started writing again. I was sitting at the library reading and all the sudden I totally got inspired to start writing. I always have a notebook with me in my bookbag (which is also considered my purse anymore) so I pulled it out and just started writing. It was very inspiring. I spent all of today writing too...well most of today. I know that is random but that is really all I have to say for today. NEXT WEEKEND IS GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!! YAY!!!

TOO BAD...

So I did my federal taxes tonight because I got my last W2 from my mom in the mail. I still have to do the state taxes but seeing as I already know that I owe money on both I am waiting till I get my refund which should be on the 10th of April. From the looks of it I will owe $111 in PA state taxes and only $6 in Utah state taxes. Very confused about how that is but we will see for sure once I do them. You know I should be so excited about getting about $1000 back on my taxes but I'm not as excited as I should be. See if I weren't on my own and owing on bills I could totally put it all in savings to go to Germany come June. But after I pay off all my outstanding bills I will probably have about $600 left. Yes that is still a large sum but as I still have no job I will be living off of that until I get one. So like I said, I am excited to get it but not as excited as I would be if I could just save the money and go to Germany. Maybe I will get lucky and I will get a job next week and be able to save at least $500 of that money. In my mind I am telling myself that I should throw what is left after I pay all the current amounts due into my Dell bill but since I will need to live off of it for the next while I can't even do that. I am in a war zone when it comes to money but I am staying afloat and working hard not to overdraw my account so that I can get out of this Fresh Start Checking Account crap. I hate having to pay a monthly fee every month for my account. At least now I'm not paying a monthly fee plus paying to put money in my account, that really sucked more than I can say. But I plan to work my butt off to get out of debt and live on my own. If I have to I will work 3 jobs this summer, or more. My life will not be my own until I am completely debt free and have proved that I can get out of debt while paying rent and utilities and all that other crap. I need to prove it to myself and too my family who thought coming out here I was running away from my problems. What they don't understand is that I knew what I was doing every step of the way. I knew the only way to change was to get out of Pennsylvania to somewhere I knew people would want to help me be who I am supposed to be not stay where people wanted me to be what they made me. I am not the same controllable, quiet little girl I was almost 7 months ago. I am a self reliant, open minded, semi outspoken woman. I spent years struggling with my weight...in 5 months I lost a little over 50 pounds and I am keeping that weight off. I have killed over $600 of my debt. I am making progress in my life and I am ready for new adventures every step of the way. In the last few weeks alone I have become more spiritual and trying hard to come closer to my Heavenly Father. I am more at peace with who I am and what I am supposed to be doing. I do however wish that just this once I could be frivolous and spend the money I get on something I want not paying off debt and State taxes. But I brought this upon myself and I will do the right thing with the money even though I may be tempted not to. My debt is my problem and nobody elses. It has made me a better person in learning that buying should be on a need to survive basis not a want to have basis. I have learned a lot about myself through my issues with money and I am glad I have Debbie who helped me see the errors of my way and is there to help me get out of the situation I put myself in with debt. She is an awesome accountability partner and I love that she started me on the Dave Ramsey program. Well I am done rambling about my issues with money and my want to spend it. Thanks for listening or I guess reading in this case.

Roan Inish...

So today I made pudding and ate some and I think it totally made me sick. I don't know whether the milk I made it with was bad or what but I have felt so sick to my stomach since I had some. I mean my milk didn't smell bad but the expiration date is today so anything is possible and I was trying to use it up before it did go bad and all. Oh well I guess we will see how I feel tomorrow...there has been a bug going around our apartment it seems, so it could be that as well. For those of you who don't know there is a meaning behind this blogs title. There is this movie called the Secret of Roan Inish. It is a movie about an Irish family who while moving off of the island of Roan Inish had a little baby float away in his cradle. Well the babies sister comes back a few years later to live with her grandparents not far from the island if Roan Inish. While she is with her grandparents she visits Roan Inish and finds her brother. Although, he keeps running from her...the seals and birds had raised him and he had been living on Roan Inish for quite a few years alone. The girl finally gets her grandparents to believe her and they go to the island to live again...that is when the seals return the boy (Jaime) to his family. That is just a brief discription of the movie and it is one of my favorite movies about Ireland. Since I am a direct descendent of Irish Kings I love the month of March and I love St. Patrick's Day. But this movie got to me today while I was watching it. I'm not sure why...I think it is because nobody but Fiona (that is the sisters name) knew the truth. I imagine it must have been lonely for her and annoying at the same time. Today I have felt like a part of me is missing and I have to say I hate that feeling. I don't know what part of me is missing but I don't remember a time when that part has ever been there. There has always been something missing in my life. This movie got me to thinking about that today and I want to be like Fiona who never gave up the search for her missing brother. I do not plan on giving up until I figure out what piece of me is missing. In other news now that I am out of my doldrum part of this blog...
  • I may have another job interview next week at the local Build-A-Bear Workshop...they sent me an email earlier and asked if I was still interested and about some other details. I replied to the email and called to talk to them in person.
  • It snowed again last night...I woke up to a snow covered ground and really bad wind.
  • I finished the movies I need to return to the library soon...Roan Inish which I obviously love and South Pacific which I really couldn't get into, I'm not sure what all the hype is about when it comes to that movie.
  • I have been prayerfully reading a few chapters in the scriptures every night...for the last week. I am trying to do better when it comes to living the church standards.
  • I plan to get my Patriarchal Blessing next week...I need to call tomorrow and set up a date with the Patriarch.
Things I need to do in the next few days...
  • Get an application over to the Bakery and see about getting an interview there ASAP.
  • Get an application to the Brick Oven, the movie theater and Macey's...all of which I have in my bag just haven't gotten to the places to turn them in...it has only been a few days since I filled them out.
  • Call and set up an appointment with the Patriarch.
  • Return the movies to the library...maybe get a couple more. I want to get State Fair and see how good it is. I am really on a musical kick lately and that is another one that I have not seen that I have always wanted to. The first one I got was Carousel...which was good, I liked the songs but the acting and some of the singers left much to be desired to say the least.
  • Figure out where I am going to go come April 23rd which is the day I am out of a contract here.
I'm sure there is more to do but those are just the few things that come to my mind at the moment. So I think that is all I have to say for tonight. I am going back to my episode of Gossip Girl to finish out the night. Thanks for listening all.

The Rush...

I am so totally used to having to have a title that I forget you don't need one on here so I come up with interesting titles that have nothing to do with the actual subject. Imagine that, a writer coming up with an interesting title but a not so interesting blog. What is the world coming to. So today I had two interviews. I won't go into details but I doubt I got the first one which I am completely ok with. The second one went a lot better and I am praying that I get it. They had one concern and that was my lack of knowledge when it comes to video games and gaming. I think I did pretty good at impressing them though. But tonight I had the privilege to see the Bishop of my new ward. Next week I am totally planning on getting my Patriarchal Blessing. So I got the recommend to get that and I also got a limited use Temple recommend. That is all I really wanted to say for tonight. I am off to read my scriptures, say my prayers and hit the sack. Good night all...

A Family Affair...

This is just a random little blurb. I totally miss every body up in Layton, Clearfield and Ogden. I have been thinking about maybe coming up to see people for General Conference but since I have no money it probably won't happen. I am still looking for a job but the video store is doing interviews tomorrow...although that is what they said last week and it got pushed back to this week. Wal-mart and Toys r us are also hiring as well as the La Quinta Inn. I have applied literally everywhere down here. Then I called all the ones I had numbers for and it turns out that not one of them was actually hiring besides those 4. Imagine that!!!! If your not hiring take the dang sign or posting down. I still need to print my resume out and take it to the bakery. It is raining off and on today and when it does it pours so I am not going out in it. Tomorrow I am at it again though...without doubt I will go. Sunday I went to the Draper Temple dedication. Wow, to see all those handkerchiefs waving at the end saying Hallelujah over and over was amazing. I am glad I made the choice to come down here. I have had spiritual experience after spiritual experience thanks to my roommate in the past two and a half weeks. Now to just get the much needed job and I will be set and I will have to figure out what I want to do come April 24th. I love everything about Provo for now but I have been looking into jobs on cruise ships and think it is what I want to do next. I know you all probably think I am nuts but I think it would be cool to do and I could see all the places I want to see for FREE. I have also been thinking about working as a flight attendent but none of the airlines are hiring for flight attendents and most of the cruise lines I looked into are hiring. I just think it would be really cool to be able to travel the world for FREE. Did I mention that already??? my bad. I am also thinking I might want to move to California or Arizona next. As it is really expensive in those areas I would prefer the job on a cruise ship. Another thing is it would mean looking for another new job if I move anywhere come April 24th and I am really not ready to do that at all. We will see what happens though. Everything is just all up in the air and I truly hate that feeling anymore. Well I think that is all that is on my mind right now. Later!!

Draper Temple...

So last Tuesday (March 10) I had the chance to go to the Draper Temple Open House. It was an experience I will never forget. I have never gone farther than the Baptismal Font so to see the Ordinance Rooms and the Sealing Room was amazing to me. All the gorgeous chandeliers and mirrors, the murals in the ordinance rooms were amazing. I had such intense emotions that I got really confused and could barely talk when we left. But going to the Temple did help me figure out what to say to one of my best friends Ben, who is struggling with the church. I am so grateful to have come to this apartment because my roommate Clara and some of the other girls are helping me immensely. We all get along great and I love them all. I can't believe it has only been a week and a couple days since I got here in Provo. I am possibly considering staying the summer term too. We will see what happens though. Well there isn't much else to say so I will talk to you all later.
